Deals this week: Granite Construction, Asyad Holding, Asiana Airlines
TIN news: The Turner/PCL Joint Venture has awarded a $59m subcontract to Granite Construction, as part of the $1.6bn Midfield Satellite Concourse Project at Los Angeles International Airport in California, US.
The contractual scope includes the demolition of existing surfaces and utilities, mass grading, structural excavation and backfill, the installation of new domestic, fire water, storm drain, sanitary sewer and natural gas utilities, and the construction of five pump stations.
The works are scheduled for completion by end of 2019.
Asyad Holding has been selected by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia to develop and operate Taif International Airport, the third airport to be developed under a public-private partnership in Taif region, Qunfuzah province.
Asyad will develop the airport alongside its consortium partners Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) and Munich Airport.
The new airport is scheduled to open in 2020 with an initial capacity of five million passengers a year.
South Korean air carrier Asiana Airlines has signed a new code share agreement with Hong Kong Airlines to offer more travel options between South Korea’s capital city Seoul and Hong Kong.
Pursuant to the agreement, the two airlines will share their codes on each other’s flights, allowing their customers to choose from five daily services operating between the two Asian cities.
