Frontier Airlines adds new non-stop flights from CVG to NYC, Minneapolis, US
TIN news: Low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines has launched new non-stop flights from Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) in the US.
The two new non-stop services will serve the routes from CVG to New York City (NYC) – LaGuardia and Minneapolis / St. Paul.
Frontier Airlines will use its A320 aircraft to operate daily to LaGuardia, while the CVG - Minneapolis / St. Paul service will operate four times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, using the airline’s A319 aircraft.
Frontier Airlines Network and Revenue vice-president Josh Flyr said: “We’re thrilled to provide new low-fare service on these routes where people from the Cincinnati area want to fly.
“The entire Cincinnati area has supported us since we first launched service, and it’s that support that has allowed us to introduce these new routes today.”
Frontier Airlines’ A320 aircraft will be able to accommodate 180 travellers, while the A319 aircraft has an accommodation capacity of 150 seats.
In May 2013, the airline began its service at CVG by introducing one daily flight operating to Denver in Colorado, US.
CVG chief executive officer Candace McGraw said: “The growth of Frontier at CVG over the last three and a half years has been incredible.
“Frontier now offers 17 non-stop year-round and / or seasonal destinations with 93 flights a week.
"Frontier also becomes CVG’s fourth largest carrier in terms of daily flights and second largest carrier in terms of seats offered.”
In addition, another non-stop service to San Diego, US, is slated to begin on 21 May.
