TIN news:  Singapore Airlines has expanded its code-share partnership agreement with UK’s Flybe Group in a move to offer additional travel options to its passengers flying via Manchester, UK.

Starting 2 May 2017, Singapore Airlines will share its SQ code on Flybe-operated flights from Manchester to Edinburgh and from Manchester to Exeter.

In a move to digitally transform Hamad International Airport (HIA), the airport authority has signed an agreement with telecommunications equipment company, Huawei Technologies.

The collaboration enables HIA and Huawei to work together to develop latest concepts, prototypes and solutions using advanced technologies, primarily focusing on internet of things (IoT) and autonomous machines.

The airport has been upgraded to enhance passenger services, security and communication systems, as well as increase its operational efficiency.

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has awarded a seven-year contract to Jacobs Engineering Group to provide project and construction management services for Los Angeles airport‘s  modernisation and improvement project.

Jacobs will deliver a wide range of project and construction support services, including project planning, design management, construction logistics and impact analysis, staff training and development, and environmental reporting.

It will also help LAWA to approve major upgrades and modernisation plans as and when proposed by its airline tenants.

Rockwell Collins will install its ARINC vMUSE common use passenger processing solution (CUPPS) at 14 South Korean airports, as part of a contract awarded by Korea Airports Corporation (KAC).

The CUPPS system is said to expedite passenger check-in processes, optimise operating costs and enhance the use of airport resources.

It also allows the airlines to connect to their own reservation system for any check-in counter, thus improving efficiency and reducing downtime.

The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has awarded a $45m contract to Leidos to continue its hazardous materials management and disposal services at more than 440 airport screening checkpoints across the US, Alaska, South Pacific, Hawaii and US Virgin Islands.

Leidos will provide regulatory support to ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations, as well as manage and operate an online documentation and record-keeping system.

It will also support due-diligence audits at treatment, storage and disposal facilities, emergency and spill response, and development and execution of training programmes.

China Southern Airlines has signed a code-share agreement with Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation (Saudia).

Pursuant to the agreement, the former airline will share its code on the latter’s flights operating between Guangzhou and Riyadh, Guangzhou and Jeddah, Dubai and Jeddah, and Dubai and Riyadh.

Saudia will share its code on the China Southern Airlines' flights between Guangzhou and Dubai, Wuhan and Dubai, Guangzhou and Beijing, and Guangzhou to Pudong.
