AerFin takes last three A340s from Cathay
UK-based teardown specialist AerFin has taken delivery of the last three Airbus A340-300s from Cathay Pacific, marking the retirement of the type from the airline's fleet.
AerFin says that the aircraft bear MSNs 208, 218 and 217, and are the last three aircraft in an 11-jet deal that was first announced in March 2015.
The aircraft will be disassembled to provide Cathay with some parts, while others will be released into AerFin's parts pool.
“AerFin has seen continued demand for CFM56-5C and A340 airframe components and we have been able to bring sustainable material supply to MROs and airlines from the acquisition of the Cathay Pacific fleet,” says Auvinash Narayen, head of acquisitions at AerFin.
