Boeing leads Airbus in half-year orders and deliveries tally
At the 2017 half-year mark, US manufacturer Boeing is outperforming its European rival Airbus in both orders and deliveries for commercial aircraft.
As of June 30, Boeing has logged firm orders* for 380 commercial aircraft compared to Airbus’ 248. In commercial aircraft deliveries, Boeing is outpacing its competitor with 341 deliveries c0mpared to 304 for Airbus.
So far this year, Airbus has logged orders for 212 A320 family aircraft, valued approximately $23 billion; three A330s valued at $701 million; and 33 A350-900s, valued at $10.3 billion. Accounting for 45 cancellations and conversions, the manufacturer has a net total of 203 commercial aircraft orders through June 30.
Boeing, meanwhile, has logged new firm orders for 267 of its 737 family aircraft, valued at approximately $29.4 billion. Additionally, the company has seen orders for 12 777-300ERs, valued at $4.1 billion; 20 777X family aircraft, valued at approximately $7.6 billion; 79 787 family aircraft, valued at $22 billion; one 747-8 and one 777 freighter. Accounting for 57 cancellations, Boeing’s net order total for the year-to-date is 323 aircraft.
As of June 30, Airbus has delivered 239 A320 family aircraft; 29 A330 family aircraft; 30 A.350s and six A380s.
Boeing at the half-year point has delivered 227 737 family aircraft; two 747-8s; two 747-8F freighters; five 767-300F freighters; 41 777-300ERs; one 777F freighter; and 63 787s
