Air Arabia Adds Sohar to its Route Network
Air Arabia announced that starting July 9, 2017, Sohar will become the third destination to join its Oman network.
The new route complements Air Arabia’s existing operations in Oman to Muscat and Salalah, boosts travel and trade opportunities between the two Gulf countries, and provides hassle-free travel options to the residents of Sohar.
The flight will operate three times a week, on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays, departing Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) at 08:00 hours, and arriving at Sohar International Airport (OHS) at 08:40 local time. The return flight will depart Sohar at 09:20, landing in Sharjah at 10:00 local time.
“Announcing the third destination in Oman is a testament to our strong commitment to facilitating passenger travel between Oman and the UAE,” said Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia.
“We are proud to be one of the first international carriers to operate from Sohar International Airport, and look forward to extending our offerings to passengers flying with us between both cities and across our expansive route network.”
Sohar is an ancient city filled with historical and religious significance. The strategic location of the port of Sohar, which lies at the heart of global trade routes between Europe and Asia, has made the city significantly important to the country’s economy, and a hub for its industrial activities.
Air Arabia currently operates flights to over 130 routes across the globe from five hubs located in the Middle East and North Africa.
