China Eastern to add 190 jets through to 2019
China Eastern Airlines expects to add 191 aircraft to the group's fleet through to 2019.
The SkyTeam carrier details that it will add 50 aircraft in the second half of 2017, comprising 30 Boeing 737s and 15 Airbus A320 family jets, four A330s, and a single 777. During the period, it will also retire six aircraft.
Thereafter in 2018, it will add 67 aircraft - 37 737s, 16 A320 family jets, eight A330s, four 787s and two A350s. At the same time, it will retire 15 aircraft (19 A330s, four 767s and one 737).
In 2019, the airline will further pick up its pace and add 74 jets – 38 737s, 25 A320 family jets, six 787s, and five A350s. There are no plans to retire any aircraft that year.
As at 30 June, the group operates a fleet of 583 passenger aircraft, with an average fleet age of 5.53 years.
