Bangkok Airways and Vietnam Airlines Enter Code-share Agreement
Bangkok Airways and Vietnam Airlines entered a code-share agreement to strengthen their respective route networks and to facilitate commercial sales of the two air carriers.
Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, President of Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited said:
“Bangkok Airways continually works towards making product and service improvements for maximum passenger satisfaction. Building code-share agreements with leading international airlines is to increase its capacity through the route network and sales. What is most important is to make travel convenient for passengers traveling inbound from destinations across the world and to connect them to various destinations operated by Bangkok Airways. Currently, the company has entered into code-share agreements with 24 leading carriers worldwide.”
“This code-share agreement allows Bangkok Airways’ passengers a convenient and seamless access to more destinations in Vietnam. Likewise, Vietnam Airlines’ passengers are able to travel to well-known destinations in Thailand through our network.” Mr. Puttipong added.
Mr. Duong Tri Thanh, President and CEO of Vietnam Airlines said:
“The partnership between two 4-Star airlines ranked by Skytrax is good news for the passengers of both airlines. We are very happy to establish a codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways. We hope the newly launched service will extend our network beyond Bangkok and offer a wider range of attractive options for customers to fly to popular travel destinations. This agreement also reflects Vietnam Airlines’ ambition to become a 5-Star airline in the coming years”
The code-share agreement will cover on both domestic and international routes. Roundtrip flights operated by Bangkok Airways include the route of Bangkok-Samui, Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Krabi, Bangkok-Chiang Mai, Bangkok-Chiang Rai and Bangkok- Danang (Vietnam). Roundtrip flights operated by Vietnam Airlines include Bangkok-Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) and Bangkok-Hanoi (Vietnam).
