Established in February 2000, JetBlue is a low-cost hybrid carrier based at New York JFK International Airport, with secondary hubs at Boston Logan, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Orlando, and San Juan airports.

JetBlue has an extensive network that serves destinations in the U.S., the Caribbean, as well as Central and South America.

In March 2024, JetBlue and Spirit Airlines terminated their $3.8 billion merger agreement, nearly a year after the U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit to block the acquisition on antitrust grounds under the Clayton Act.

JetBlue first proposed a $3.6 billion acquisition of Spirit in April 2022, positioning it as a “superior proposal” to Spirit’s planned $6.6 billion merger with Frontier Airlines announced earlier that year. Spirit ultimately ended its agreement with Frontier in July 2022 and moved forward with JetBlue after both boards approved a definitive merger agreement. However, the deal faced significant regulatory hurdles, culminating in the DOJ's lawsuit in March 2023.

JetBlue Airways is one of the airlines registered to attend the 2025 Routes Americas event in Nassau & Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Routes Americas 2025 will bring together airline, airport, and destination decision-makers in Nassau & Paradise Island to define the region’s air service networks. The event Routes will create a platform for senior decision makers to meet and discuss the region's air services.
