Iran, Turkey can strengthen regional security: Official
The development of Iran-Turkey relations contributes to strengthening security and stability in the region, says Head of Iran-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group.
In a meeting with some Turkish media people on Monday, Ahmad Alireza Beigi referred to the positive economic and cultural interactions between Iran and Turkey and said the long history of friendly relations between the two nations has provided a suitable ground for the development of relations in various economic, social and cultural areas.
Promoting Tehran-Ankara’s media and cultural cooperation can help create mutual understanding of the regional and global developments, Alireza Beigi stated.
He referred to the long-lasting cultural, religious and historical ties of the two nations, adding Iran and Turkey, as two important and influential countries in the region and the Islamic world, can jointly be effective in solving many of the current problems of Islamic countries.
The Iranian official also expressed hope that developing Tehran-Ankara’s ties can help the regional security and stability.
Also in the meeting, Turkish media expressed satisfaction with Iran-Turkey’s developing relations, calling cultural interactions the important part of the two countries’ ties.
Meanwhile, during a telephone conversation between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on May, the two presidents said Iran and Turkey are keen to open a new chapter in bilateral ties.
