TIN news:    Airports operator Finavia has completed a €13.5m expansion and renewal of Ivalo Airport in Finland
As part of the modernisation, the old terminal building has been completely renovated in addition to the new expansion wing.
In 2014, the company repaved the air traffic areas and also improved the airport parking areas.
Finavia director Joni Sundelin said: "Finavia's €13.5m investment at Ivalo Airport is the largest single input in network airport development in the last few years, and as the work is now complete, we are very happy.

"By making Lapland airports more effective and smooth, we have also otherwise invested extensively in Lapland tourism, and in that way, we are promoting the operating preconditions of the region's tourism operators."
The design of the renovated terminal will particularly focus on passenger waiting rooms as well as restaurant services.
Introduced in May, the terminal expansion wing has now fully renovated check-in facilities, security check and baggage handling facilities.
The gate area shop has local food products and the pre-security check area has a new café that offers souvenirs and local handicrafts.
Finavia noted that a portion of art of the terminal still includes a segment of wooden wall and a fireplace.
This year, the development of Lapland's airports has been a primary focus, with facilities at Rovaniemi and Kittilä airports also being modernised
