CMA CGM is launching Morocco Express 1/2/3, a service to connect Morocco more quickly to Europe, offering an alternative to road transport transiting through Spain and reduction of environmental footprint.

The Morocco Express is composed of 3 loops between Morocco and the South of Europe: Connection of Casablanca and Tangier to Marseille, connection of Tangier to Marseille and Genoa, and connection of the port of Tangier to Port-Vendres.

This new service allows the loading of goods transported in trailers or containers, on specific ro-ro ships (Roll-on, Roll-off) between Morocco and Southern Europe.

The Morocco Express service reduces CO2 emissions by 43% compared to road transport transiting through Spain. Thus, 64 000 tons of CO2 can be saved each year by giving priority to shipping by sea, according to the company’s statement.

The first departures are scheduled simultaneously on 21 October in Tangiers and Marseille.
