EnerMech secures Prelude FLNG contract
Aberdeen-based engineering group EnerMech has secured a five-year agreement for Shell’s Prelude floating FLNG facility off Western Australia.
The contract will be managed from the company’s Henderson base in Perth. As far as the engineering and service support is concerned, it will be delivered from regional facilities across Australia, including Darwin in the Northern Territory.
As soon as the FLNG facility arrived at its destination 475km north east of Broome, the hook-up and commissioning works immediately started.
After the project is completed, the Prelude FLNG facility can be able to produce up to 3.6 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate and 0.4 mtpa of LPG.
The FLNG facility will be managed by Shell, with the partnership of Inpex, KOGAS and OPIC.
