15 Filipino crewmembers tested positive for COVID-19
Amid the coronavirus outbreak situation, on 15th August Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore reported that 15 Filipino crewmembers were found COVID-19 positive.
Amid the coronavirus outbreak situation, on 15th August Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore reported that 15 Filipino crewmembers were found COVID-19 positive.
In fact, the infected seafarers were working onboard the same vessel, which had recently berthed in Singapore from India for repairs and refuelling operations.
According to MPA Singapore, the Bahamas-registered vessel arrived in Singapore on Aug 8.
Although it was on 12 August when the first crewmember of the ship confirmed with COVID-19. The following day, the Ministry of Health (MOH) informed that another four seafarers were coronavirus infected.
One week after the ship's arrival in Singapore, another 10 crewmembers were tested as positive.
"All crew members of the ship did not disembark. Swabbing was done on board the ship, where they remained until their COVID-19 test results came back."

Following the above, the 15 crewmembers were immediately transferred via ambulance directly to a hospital.
The remaining crewmembers are currently under quarantine onboard the vessel, with no ongoing operations, while the ship will be thoroughly disinfected.
