Thales wins Turkish signalling contract
THALES has been awarded a signalling contract by a joint venture of Gülermak and Kolin for the modernisation of the 36km Sincan - Kayaş line in Ankara.
The upgrade is part of the Başkentray project, which involves the renovation of the signalling systems for high-speed, conventional and suburban services in the Turkish capital. The Gülermark-Kolin joint venture is completing the project for Turkish State Railways (TCDD).
The project comprises a centralised traffic control system, electronic interlockings, ETCS Level 1 and two automatic train protection systems, trackside signalling equipment, and interfaces between high-speed lines, conventional lines and level crossings.
