Milan launches tender for up to 80 trams

MILAN Transport (ATM) launched a tender on August 8 for a six-year framework contract to supply up to 80 low-floor LRVs.

The contract has an estimated value of €213m and comprises 50 bidirectional vehicles for the 115km urban network and 30 vehicles for the interurban lines to Limbiate and Desio.

The 1445mm-gaug 600V dc vehicles will be  23-26m long and equipped with air conditioning, CCTV, regenerative braking and active and passive safety systems.

ATM operates a 20-line tram network with a fleet of 493 vehicles.
