BOMBARDIER has secured two contracts to supply a total of 72 Innovia Monorail 300 trains for two new monorail lines in Bangkok.

The contracts were awarded by Northern Bangkok Monorail Company, which is building the 34.5km Pink Line from Khae Rai to Min Buri, and Eastern Bangkok Monorail Company, constructor of the 30.4 km Lat Phrao - Samrong Yellow Line. The two companies are building the elevated lines under 30-year PPP concessions.

Bombardier will supply 42 trains for the Pink Line and 30 sets for the Yellow Line.

The 80km/h four-car trains will be equipped with Bombardier’s Cityflo 650 automatic train control system. The manufacturer will provide project management, systems engineering and integration, and testing and commissioning support as part of the two contracts.

Assembly of all 288 vehicles will be carried out in China by the Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems joint venture.
