Tendering begins for Kuala Lumpur Line MRT3
MALAYSIA’s Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp) issued a tender notice on November 6 for a turnkey contract to construct and equip Kuala Lumpur’s Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Line 3 (MRT3).
The winning bidder will be responsible for engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of tunnels, viaducts, stations, depots, track, rolling stock, signalling and power supplies on the 40km circular line, which is expected to open in 2025.
The project involves the construction of 32km of twin-bore tunnel, 8km of viaducts, and two depots. The line will be equipped for driverless operation (Grade of Automation 4) with a maximum operating speed of 100km/h.
The line will serve 26 stations, 19 of which will be underground with seven elevated.
