FRANCE: Acting on behalf of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, SNCF Mobilités has awarded Alstom a €32m contract to supply five four-car Coradia Polyvalent electro-diesel multiple-units.
The regional units to be delivered between the end of 2020 and early 2021 will have 214 seats with individual reading lights and power sockets, as well as spaces for bicycles and luggage.
The order announced on May 13 has been placed within an October 2009 framework agreement between SNCF and Alstom. The PACA region has previously ordered 10 Coradia Polyvalents, which entered service in 2015.
‘The acquisition of this new rolling stock will enable us to offer modernity and more comfortable regional trips to the thousands of users in Région Sud who, every day, take the train to work’, said PACA regional President Renaud Muselier.
