Alstom Consolidates European Operations with New Regional Structure
Germany plays a vital role in Alstom’s wider European operations, particularly as a key exporter to the Nordics. Train deliveries from Germany have been instrumental in projects such as the C30 Stockholm Metro in Sweden, Norske Tog’s 05 trains in Norway, and DSB’s IC5 in Denmark. In fact, half of Germany’s train production is exported to the Nordic countries.
As part of the restructuring, the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) will be combined with the Nordics cluster (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland) from January 2025.

To lead this newly formed region, Tim Dawidowsky has been appointed as Region President, effective 1 October 2024. Based in Berlin, Dawidowsky is experienced in project-based businesses and organisational transformation.

Alstom credits Müslüm Yakisan, sitting DACH Region President, for his pivotal role in integrating Bombardier’s operations in the DACH region and securing significant contracts such as the Coradia Max for Baden-Wurttemberg and the Hamburg Metro and S-Bahn Cologne projects.
