In October, Roediger Vacuum won a truly incredible project and we are thrilled to be providing the entire supply and disposal system for Deutsche Bahn’s new ICE maintenance facility in Dortmund Hafen !
This is an amazing opportunity to bring our vacuum technology to one of Deutsche Bahn’s most important facilities, contributing to the future of railway operations. This prestigious project is not only a major milestone for Roediger but also a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
For the new ICE maintenance facility in Dortmund Hafen , Roediger will supply the entire vacuum-based supply and disposal system – a major project for both Deutsche Bahn and Roediger, allowing us to bring our expertise in vacuum technology to ensure efficient service and maintenance of ICE trains.
This state-of-the-art facility will feature:
- 2 vacuum stations with two Compact Station 360 units each, serving four tracks inside the 418-meter-long hall, complete with underfloor service pits tracks
- More than 100 of our T-Modules for servicing two outdoor areas with four additional tracks
- 16 media cabinets for optimal interior train cleaning
What Makes This Project Unique?
- Roediger has extensive operational experience, having implemented similar large-scale projects like the ICE facility at Cologne-Nippes, where we have been ensuring smooth operations with our systems for over 7 years.
- Our solution, with strategically installed underfloor pits for supply and disposal, has been tried and tested in Cologne and is the ideal fit for modern ICE depots that require full accessibility to the trains inside longer halls to accommodate the new generation of 400m ICE trains.
- Roediger is the go-to partner for Deutsche Bahn’s major maintenance facilities, having equipped almost all of them, including Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Leipzig, and now Dortmund Hafen.
Who’s on the team? Since the tender phase, our team has been excited and driven to bring this project to life. Our project manager, Mathias Pietsch, is leading the development alongside our site manager, construction and electrical teams, and commercial departments, all working to achieve completion by early 2027.
We’re proud to support Deutsche Bahn with our advanced technology and look forward to enhancing the efficiency of another major ICE maintenance facility!
