Eurostar has announced the resumption of its direct service between Amsterdam and London from 10 February.

The service is now operating three times a day on weekdays and Sundays, with two services on Saturdays. This follows a six-month suspension of services due to renovation works at Amsterdam Central station.

With the return of the direct route, Eurostar is also undertaking a phased expansion plan. This includes:

  • 10 February – Late March 2025: Capacity will be limited to 400 passengers per journey from Amsterdam, a 10% increase from previous levels.
  • 30 March – 22 April: A temporary terminal closure at Amsterdam Centraal will facilitate further platform renovations.
  • From 22 April: Capacity will rise to 600 passengers from Amsterdam and an additional 160 passengers from Rotterdam.
  • By September 2025: Full capacity will reach 650 passengers from Amsterdam.

Eurostar then aims to expand to five daily services between London and Amsterdam by 2026.

Eurostar CEO Gwendoline Cazenave said:

We are delighted that direct Eurostar services between Amsterdam and London are back. This is more than just a train journey — it is a seamless connection between two vibrant capitals, offering our customers an efficient, comfortable, and sustainable way to travel. Eurostar is proud to unveil this state-of-the-art terminal, reinforcing our commitment to providing a seamless, sustainable, travel experience. We know we will welcome more passengers on board as we continue to grow our services and set the standards for connectivity across Europe. The tripling of capacity on the Netherlands-UK route is step one in a broader strategy to increase Eurostar’s network for customers all across Europe.

The reopening of the route coincides with the launch of a new UK Terminal at Amsterdam Centraal, designed with sustainability and passenger comfort in mind.

The terminal features an eco-friendly design with carbon-negative flooring, an A+ energy efficiency rating, and sustainable materials such as recycled plating and felt ceilings.

It also offers an enhanced customer experience thanks to ultra-fast Wi-Fi, real-time information systems, and smart lighting.
