Comprehensive Development and Maintenance of Border Crossings and Roadside Facilities in Previous Iranian Year
The Director General for the Department of Technical and Contracts of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization announced the successful construction, completion and maintenance of 22 border crossing areas across Iran during the last Iranian year.

According to Hossein Haddadzadegan, the significant progress in infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing transport services and improving road safety was highlighted, upon which, over the past year, essential repairs, improvements, and the construction of 273 traffic police stations and checkpoints were also carried out along major transportation routes. These efforts were intended to improve service delivery and ensure the safety of road travelers.
Haddadzadegan also noted the RMTO's commitment to cultural and religious services. During the year, 20 new roadside prayer rooms were constructed and made operational in underserved suburban areas. These facilities were designed to accommodate travelers, including those with disabilities, and were equipped with additional amenities such as shops, rooms for mothers and children as well as restrooms.
The Director General also further stressed the completion and activation of 10 administrative buildings in various provinces and cities across the country over the same period.
Addressing preparations for the Nowruz holiday season, Mr. Haddadzadegan detailed the renovation and readiness of 1,051 roadside prayer rooms and related facilities, including restrooms and temporary rest areas, to ensure optimal services for travelers during this peak period.
He also stressed the importance of facilitating international travel during Nowruz through border crossing areas. To this end, repairs, maintenance and operational readiness were completed for 27 borders, ensuring passengers received high-quality services during the holiday season.
This comprehensive infrastructure development reflects the RMTO's ongoing commitment to enhancing transportation systems and promoting traveler safety and comfort nationwide.
