16% Increase in Fleet Traffic from Khorasan Razavi Border Crossings
The Director General of Khorasan Provincial Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization reported a 16% rise in road fleet traffic and a 20% increase in transported goods tonnage from the provincial border crossings during the past Iranian Year.

Jafar Shahamat highlighted that over 478,000 road fleet movements last year facilitated the transport of over 7.2 million tons of goods. During last year, approximately 150,000 trucks carrying 3.123 million tons of transit cargo left the province, reflecting a 17% increase in traffic and an 18% growth in transported tonnage compared to the prior year.
Mr. Shahamat stressed that a 50% growth in incoming transit tonnage contributed to the 100% achievement of the annual transit target of the 7th National Development Plan’s. Export fleet traffic rose by 6% (103,000 trucks), while import fleet traffic surged by 37% (8,000 trucks) year-on-year.
