TomTom launches Go Professional range in Europe
TIN news: TomTom has launched GO Professional range, which has been designed and developed to allow drivers of heavier vehicles to get to their destinations safely and efficiently.
The new satellite navigation device will be available with lifetime large vehicle map updates through a Wi-Fi connection, as well as it includes tailored routing feature to guide drivers to carefully selected truck, van or coach, and offers points of interest (POIs), such as fuel stations and parking.
The company explained that its Go Professional navigation device is compatible with applications such as Siri and Google Now, to provide complete access to their personal assistant with their smartphone device and allowing them to focus on the road.
For providing an efficient journey experience to its users, the TomTom Go Professional provides customised routes by calculating dimensions of the vehicle, cargo weight, and max speed. The device also offers realistic arrival time information to drivers.
It includes information on nearly 50,000 trucks, van and coach bus fuel stations, parking spots, restaurants and services centres across the Europe.
In order to meet professional drivers’ needs, the company claims that it has sourced the information about dedicated POIs from DKV, ParkyourBus and Les Routiers.
TomTom Consumer co-founder and managing director Corinne Vigreux said: “We are incredibly excited to bring more efficiency to the world of the professional driver with our new sat-nav.
“For all those individual truck, van or coach drivers, drop-offs during rush-hour just got easier with traffic predictions and alerts for imminent traffic build-up.”
The device also has the potential to predict and avoid traffic congestion on motorways, as well as on the secondary roads. It also alerts the drivers about the imminent traffic ahead to avoid sudden braking.
