TRX awards $75m contract to Gadang CRFG
TIN news: Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) developer TRX City in Malaysia has awarded a traffic dispersion and improvement contract worth $75m to Gadang CRFG.
Gadang is a joint venture (JV) company between Gadang Engineering and CRFG Malaysia.
The contract has been awarded to the consortium as part of efforts by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) and the federal government to improve traffic flow on Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Tun Razak by nearly 27%.
Jalan Tun Razak is an arterial road in Kuala Lumpur.
TRX City CEO Azmar Talib said: “The work outlined in this contract will realise the TRX master plan of turning the development into the best-connected address in Kuala Lumpur.
“These additional highways and road access into TRX, together with the underground MRT interchange station and comfortable, convenient pedestrian walkways, also offer greater connectivity to the existing city centre and the rest of Greater KL.”
Under the contract, the JV will carry out earthworks, foundation works, underground reinforced concrete road structure, elevated roadway and at-grade roadway. Other associated works will also be carried out for access roads to and fro the TRX development.
The works will be performed for a period of two years.
Upon completion, TRX will have a direct access to three major highways, Smart, Maju Expressway (MEX) and Duke-3.
The award of this contract follows a tender process that started in August last year and was overseen by a third-party independent audit company.
