TIN news: CPB Contractors has agreed to deliver three new projects for Main Roads Western Australia along with its Alliance partners after renegotiating the Roe 8 contract with the Government of Western Australia for A$276m ($203m).
The Alliance partners include companies such as Georgiou Group, WA Limestone, GHD, AECOM and BG&E.
CIMIC Group chief executive officer Adolfo Valderas said: "Our international experience and local knowledge mean we are well-positioned to quickly and innovatively respond to our client’s needs, as well as the expectations of stakeholders and communities."
Under the deal, CPB Contractors and its Alliance team will be responsible for carrying a wide range of works that include establishing road connectivity from Murdoch Drive to Kwinana Freeway and Roe Highway to provide greater access to the Fiona Stanley Hospital and Murdoch Activity Centre.
The project works will also include upgrading Wanneroo Road to a dual carriageway between Joondalup Drive and Flynn Drive and also transforming Armadale Road to a dual carriageway between Tapper Road and Anstey Road.
The construction company intends to initiate works on the Murdoch Drive connection instantly and works on the Wanneroo Road and Armadale Road dual carriageway are slated to commence in the 2017-18 financial year.
CPB Contractors managing director Román Garrido said: "The new projects are significant in that they will enhance Perth’s road network operations in the northern, eastern and southern suburbs of Perth, as well as create important opportunities for the participation of local workers and businesses."
The Alliance team will also be engaged in the rehabilitation of the cleared Roe 8 site in Coolbellup.
