Smart Parking to deploy bay-finding technology in New Zealand
TINNews |

Smart Parking has secured a contract to supply its sensor and bay-finding technology for Wilson Parking New Zealand's nine new car parks in the country.

Wilson Parking has operations in more than 285 car parks in New Zealand, as well as overseas activities in almost 700 locations across Australia, Singapore, China, Korea, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Wilson Parking New Zealand has already deployed Smart Parking’s technology in 1,134 bays across four sites, including Auckland’s SAP Tower, in this financial year.

Smart Parking CEO Paul Gillespie said: “The continued uptake of our systems in the region further cements our position as a world leader in the design, development and management of parking technology."

"Sensors will be installed at parking sites, which will provide real-time information about the availability of space."

Over the next 12 months, Wilson intends to deploy the Smart Parking technologies at the nine new sites, encompassing more than 3,000 parking spaces.

Smart Parking’s sensors will be installed at parking sites, which will provide real-time information about the availability of spaces, as well as guide drivers to the available bays using clear digital signage and coloured LED lighting.

Occupancy data gathered through the sensors gets transmitted to SmartRep, Smart Parking’s car parking management software tool, in real-time.

Accurate vehicle-by-vehicle, real-time and historical data of the actual usage of the car park enables Wilson Parking to gain a better understanding of drivers’ parking habits.
