More innovation for IRU’s membership
Joining a growing number of leading academia and research organisations to work with IRU on delivering innovative solutions for transport and logistics, IRU’s latest member is Greek research institute, Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT).
HIT’s mission is to provide transport research and to support policy and decision-making in land, maritime, air and intermodal transport operations. It collaborates with established transport institutions internationally and represents Greece on the global stage. HIT is part of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH).
Dr. Georgia Aifantopoulou, Deputy Research Director of CERTH-HIT says,
“CERTH-HIT is pleased to join the world’s road transport organisation, to further strengthen our work on bringing solutions needed by the stakeholders in this transport sector. Having a strong maritime side as well, we will work even more on bringing these, and other modes of transport, closer together.”
IRU and HIT have previously collaborated on a number of EU research projects, and share a vision for fully digitalised transport and logistics processes. The relationship further strengthens IRU’s national presence in Greece, as HIT is closely allied to the national association, the Hellenic Federation of Road Transport.
Boris Blanche, COO of IRU, comments,
“CERTH-HIT shares IRU’s commitment to developing future mobility solutions and together, we can pool knowledge and resources to strengthen our research and innovation work.”
