Ticketing and innovative fare collection Masabi Mobile has announced deployments of mobile ticketing making use of JustRide SDK by Keolis and its digital subsidiary, Kisio, in two French cities of Orleans and Montargis.

JustRide SDK is a mobile ticketing software development kit (SDK) for the transport industry.

'Plan-Book-Ticket' by Keolis is currently available for bus and tram passengers in Orleans. Plan-Book-Ticket went live in January 2017 at Montargis.

Keolis Group marketing, innovation and services executive director Laurent Kocher said: "Thanks to Masabi technology, we are able to provide to French PTA’s a mobile ticket with the same validation and control experience for passengers as with the usual contactless card.

"This is absolutely critical to prevent fare evasion. Montargis and Orleans are the first cities in France that benefit from this new application and digital experience in this year."

The SDK enables Masabi’s strategic partner Keolis to include mobile ticketing into existing travel information, booking and planning apps, which will in turn boost travel experience in these cities.

“Plan-Book-Ticket” includes visual and barcode-based mobile ticketing and validation technology from Masabi’s JustRide Platform.

It enables French public transport agencies to design fully integrated, custom branded, ticketing and trip planning applications.

Orleans has also deployed Masabi’s JustRide Inspect Validator across the tram network. This service enables passengers to scan their mobile tickets after they board.

"This is absolutely critical to prevent fare evasion."

The JustRide SDK enables an integrated app to manage payment, request fare types and deliver visual and barcode tickets to a passenger through the ticket wallet.

SDK communicates with Masabi servers in order to understand fare tables and then manages the ticket, its lifecycle and security.

Operators utilising the SDK can gain access to the JustRide Hub. This enables operators to access back-office data including real-time sales, usage and validation information, reporting, and asset management interface.

JustRide SDK customers include major transport operators requiring a differentiated front-end experience but also needing a secure ticketing back-office, passenger information apps, as well as messaging and payment platform providers.

Currently, Masabi’s mobile ticketing technology is used by more than 25 transport operators across the world, including New York’s MTA, Transport for Athens, Boston’s MBTA, National Express Bus, Las Vegas RTC, Los Angeles Metrolink and HTM The Hague.

Masabi CEO Brian Zanghi said: "The JustRide SDK is a game-changer for the mobile ticketing industry, allowing strategic partners like Keolis to incorporate our proven mobile ticketing technology into their existing mobile apps and services.

"By incorporating our ticketing technology into the “Plan-Book-Ticket” solution, Keolis can delight passengers and improve efficiency for transport agencies.

"Keolis is our first partner to use the JustRide SDK to provide mobile ticketing to transport authorities in Montargis and Orleans and we look forward to launching with them in more French towns and cities."
