Funding will be used to protect the Port Lands from flooding to clean contaminated soil, unlock land ripe for development, and establish new aquatic habitats and wetlands for native species. The project will transform the polluted industrial area into a mixed-use community surrounded by parks and green space.

The approach spans of bridge number 5900 will be rebuilt as part of the contract. The final phase also includes remaining roadway and site work.
