IRU showcases the benefits of seamless trade facilitation and the easing of delays at borders with TIR at the World Customs Organisation global transit conference in Brussels today.

The conference gathers together 300 participants from the global customs community and the private sector. Speaking as part of a panel on challenges and solutions for efficient transit, IRU Secretary General, Umberto de Pretto, encourages the global deployment of TIR as the world’s only tried and tested transit system.

India’s recent accession to the TIR Convention, coupled with announcements from Saudi Arabia and strong interest from Argentina, is evidence of its ever growing global reach and endorsement across diverse world regions.

IRU is also organising a joint side event with the UN on the technical aspects of TIR, showcasing its digital capabilities and new generation IT tools.
