Advance on digital TIR for Uzbekistan
Recent meetings in Uzbekistan have boosted momentum for TIR digital tools, with new cross border digital pilot transports in sight.
IRU gained support from the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan to make TIR Electronic Pre-Declarations (TIR-EPD) operational by the end of this year.
IRU met with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Customs Committee and Road and River Transport Agency to highlight progress on the digitalisation of TIR, as well as recent TIR expansion developments and successful eTIR pilots between Iran and Turkey, which were recently recognised by the UN.
IRU also presented e-CMR: the digital consignment note, highlighting the benefits of accurate and faster data exchange, as the whole transport and logistics industry moves towards digitalisation.
