European urban mobility: smart, clean and shared
IRU’s European Union funded projects puts users at the core of transport services by offering them tailored made mobility solutions. Tying in with European Mobility Week, IRU’s work reinforces this year’s theme with a message on clean, shared and intelligent urban mobility.
IRU welcomes and supports European Mobility Week and its focus on new mobility patterns that offer environmental benefits as well as time and cost savings. IRU is an advocate of change in travel behaviour as the way to achieve a sustainable and clean urban mobility and works with its members and partners on finding new solutions, such as Mobility-as-a-Service, to reach this goal.
The MyCorridor project focuses on connecting mobility services between different countries. The HiReach project, due to begin in October this year, will explore viable business models for small-scale, modular and easily replicable mobility services such as community transport services, ridesharing, and minibus pooling, that can be provided at affordable prices with minimum subsidies.
