Skanska, Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald JV, BMD Constructions
Skanska has been awarded a contract by the Port Authority of New York and Jersey to upgrade the George Washington Bridge in New York, US.
The company will rehabilitate and replace supporting structures under the contract, which is valued at Skr3.9bn ($452m).
Skanska is a construction and development company based in Sweden.
Construction on the project is expected to be completed by 2025.

A joint venture (JV) between Balfour Beatty and Mott MacDonald has received a 17-month contract extension from Highways England (HE) to continue to provide service for Area 10 covering Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
The JV has been providing asset management, and highways maintenance services throughout the north-west for five years, while the extension is worth £115m ($151.5m).

The road stretch will be widened from two to four lanes between Diamond Creek Road to Kurrak Road, and four intersections at River Avenue, Kurrak Road, Memorial Drive and Diamond Creek Road will be improved as part of the contract.
