Emirates inaugurates world’s shortest Airbus A380 flight
This morning, Emirates inaugurated twice-daily Airbus A380-services between Dubai, U.A.E. and Muscat, Oman making it the shortest A380 flight in the world: the distance between the two cities is only 349 km.

In 1993, Emirates inaugurated its first service to Muscat and since then, has carried more than 4.7 million passengers to and from Oman. The airline started operating with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft with a four weekly services. Until yesterday, the airline operated to Muscat with three daily services utilizing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Since 2015, Emirates has transported 44,000 tonnes of cargo to and from the country with main export commodities of perishables, including beans and mushrooms and fish.
Exactly one year ago, on 1 July 2018, the airline operated a one-off Airbus A380 to check out the infrastructure of the newly opened airport.
According to flightradar24-data, the 41 minute flight reached an altitude of 19,000 feet.
