U.S. ULCC Frontier Airlines has unveiled plans to continue growing its presence at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), adding three more routes.
Frontier will open service on three highly competitive routes—all to American Airlines hubs—from JFK in the spring. The new routes will grow the airline’s destinations served from the airport to eight by May 1.
From March 30, the all Airbus A320-family aircraft operator will launch daily flights between JFK and Miami. From April 22, the airline will commence 4X-weekly flights between JFK and Dallas-Fort Worth. From May 1, the carrier will launch daily transcontinental service between JFK and Los Angeles.
The Denver-based carrier began serving JFK, which is an American Airlines hub, for the first time in June 2024 when it launched 2X-daily service to San Juan, Puerto Rico. It has since added four more routes from JFK: Atlanta; Las Vegas; and Florida cities Orlando and Tampa.
Frontier said its flights from JFK are “making a New York adventure or business trip that much more affordable for budget-savvy consumers across the U.S.”
The airline already operated to New York LaGuardia Airport before it entered JFK last year and continues to do so. Frontier started serving Newark after a two-year absence in June 2024 when it opened 11X-weekly service to San Juan.
