TIN news: Airlines for America (A4A), an industry trade organisation for US airlines, has launched a new interactive data dashboard to provide flight operation information across the country.
Developed in partnership with Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE), the new dashboard is designed to display the current operation status of 30 US airports to passengers.
Using GEE’s aviation data analytics capabilities, the dashboard features scroll-over maps, real-time flight departures, completions, cancellations, on-time performance, and weather conditions at the national and local airport level.

"Airline passengers, airlines and airports now have the most reliable and current information about how potential weather disruptions are impacting travel."
The solution, which includes current analysis tools for all US flight operations, also provides a detailed and 30-day analysis of completed and cancelled flights.
The dashboard aims to help industry partners who require aggregated on-time performance data based on current weather patterns.
Airlines for America vice president and chief economist John Heimlich said: “Weather conditions can change quickly and have a significant impact on US airlines and the 2.2 million passengers they serve every day across the globe.
“Airline passengers, airlines and airports now have the most reliable and current information about how potential weather disruptions are impacting travel at a specific airport or across an entire region of the country.”
A4A noted that the US' commercial aviation sector helps create around $1.5 trillion of economic activity, and more than 11 million jobs per year.
Global Eagle Entertainment connected aircraft solutions vice president Bernard Asare said: “Global Eagle’s operations solutions and analytics business is built on our ability to provide real-time, in-depth analysis of increasing amounts of big data produced across the aviation industry.”
