American Cruise Lines to Double Capacity in Pacific Northwest With New Ship

American Cruise Lines will move its newest ship, American Constellation, from the East Coast of the United States to the West Coast in 2018. It will sail Southeast Alaska, Alaska Inside Passage and Puget Sound itineraries.

With the move, ACL will more than double its capacity in the Pacific Northwest and add 18 cruises to its previously announced 2018 season. Among these new cruises will be a brand new itinerary, the Grand Puget Sound, an 11-day sailing out of Seattle that will visits some ports rarely visited including Olympia and Tacoma.

The move also enables ACL to offer its Puget Sound & San Juan Islands itinerary through July and August 2018, onboard American Spirit. This will be the first time the cruise line has ever offered these sailings in the summer.

American Constellation debuted May 2017. It will spend the remainder of 2017 on the East Coast offering Grand New England, Hudson River, Grand Historic South and Historic South cruises. The line's next new ship, American Constitution, will take over these sailings in 2018 after American Constellation has repositioned to the Pacific Northwest.
