Agreement signed for building 18 electric-powered bulkers

Chinese lithium battery producer EVE Energy and Shanghai Hanshun Shipping will cooperate for the development of eighteen electric-powered bulk carriers. These ships are expected to have 30% less operation costs than other river-ocean going bulk carriers.

Chinese lithium battery producer EVE Energy and Shanghai Hanshun Shipping will cooperate for the development of eighteen electric-powered bulk carriers. These ships are expected to have 30% less operation costs than other river-ocean going bulk carriers.

More specifically, EVE Energy and Shanghai Hanshun Shipping will develop 18 battery-powered bulk carriers, with EVE Energy providing the battery system.

Once operating, the vessels will have 30% less operation costs than other river-ocean going bulk carriers.

The collaboration agreement between the two companies is for a total period of three years, while there is option for another three years.

EVE Energy focuses on lithium battery innovation and manufacturing and, according to sources, it has provided battery systems for more than 100 alternative energy-powered vessels.
