RFI launched for New York LaGuardia Airport rail link
THE Port Authority of New York/New Jersey has issued a request for information by July 20 from rail vehicle and component manufactures for the proposed LaGuardia Airtrain project.
The port authority wants to hear from manufacturers of metro, light rail or automated peoplemover vehicles and components to help inform the next stage of the project.
The automated rail link would connect the Central Terminal Building at Terminal B and the redeveloped Delta Airlines’ Terminals C and D with Willets Point station on the Long Island Rail Road’s Port Washington branch and Willets Point Mets subway station on the Flushing Line.
LGA Airtrain would also provide a link between the airport’s terminals for passengers and airport workers, and there would be provision to serve Terminal A at LaGuardia in the future.
