Spanning over 50 stations, this project aims to enhance the CCTV network’s infrastructure and increase camera capacity to improve monitoring and passenger safety on these key metro routes.
The upgrades will include a new centralised Video Management System (VMS) and Video Transmission Network (VTN), which will manage newly installed and existing cameras across the NSEWL network.
Under this contract, Hitachi Rail is responsible for the overall system design, while Strides Engineering will oversee physical deployment. The collaboration will ensure each station is equipped with advanced security technology integrated into the Operations Control Centre.
“Our partnership with Strides Engineering forms a strong team to ensure high level of customer commitment. Our CCTV solution will enhance security on Singapore’s oldest and most heavily used lines.”
This CCTV project follows Hitachi Rail’s successful signalling system upgrade for the NSEWL, one of the world’s largest re-signalling projects, commissioned in 2017 for the North-South Line and in 2018 for the East-West Line.
“We are committed to bolstering passenger security in Singapore’s public transportation with our cutting-edge solutions. We are grateful for the confidence by LTA in this extensive project as a technology provider.”
