Alstom to Overhaul Citadis Tram Fleet in Madrid
Metro Ligero Oeste (MLO) has signed a comprehensive overhaul contract with Alstom to perform essential mid-life upgrades to its fleet of Citadis trams in Madrid, Spain.
Metro Ligero Oeste (MLO) has signed a comprehensive overhaul contract with Alstom to perform essential mid-life upgrades to its fleet of Citadis trams in Madrid, Spain.
This agreement covers 27 Alstom Citadis trams, in service since 2007, and will ensure ongoing quality, safety, and reliability.
Specifically, Alstom will carry out an overhaul of critical components, including braking systems, bogies (both motor and trailer), circuit breakers, vehicle couplings, inter-car shock absorbers, and the emergency brake control units.

Alstom’s industrial site in Pinto, Madrid, will manage the engineering, testing, and final approval of all components.
The work will be divided into two phases and will span from January 2025 to 2029.
