Pandrol SAS, the global leader in designing, installing and maintaining railway infrastructure, has been awarded a Gold Medal in the latest round of EcoVadis sustainability ratings.
It is the fourth year in a row that the business has achieved the recognition, placing it among the top 5% of sustainable businesses across the world.
Pandrol SAS was also recognized with a further ‘Advanced’ award for carbon management, repeating its success in 2023.
A global standard for business sustainability ratings, the EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes – Environment; Labour & Human Rights; Ethics and Sustainable Procurement – and provides a final score. Pandrol achieved 74/100.
The ratings provide an evidence-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
Having worked on more than 400 railways in over 100 countries, the business aims to deliver sustainable, resilient systems designed to reduce their environmental impact without compromising quality, efficiency or cost-effectiveness.
Products such as the Sustainable Resilient Systems (SRS) range, designed to reduce track vibration and cut down on the need for regular maintenance, are manufactured using old tyres with 90% of the materials used in the process being recycled.
“Pandrol is delighted to have secured its fourth consecutive Gold Medal in the EcoVadis sustainability ratings and is equally as proud to once again pick up an ‘Advanced’ award.
“Our sustainability journey is about more than awards. It's about systematically embedding ethical, social, and environmental responsibility into every aspect of our global operations.
“With operations spanning over 100 countries, Pandrol is committed to setting new benchmarks in sustainable, responsible business practices – prioritising people, planet, sustainable performance.”
More than 125,000 companies globally have been rated by EcoVadis, with the ratings based on international sustainability standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard.
