Alstom’s Spanish Trápaga development centre has been selected to deliver three new rail projects for operation in Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The projects include both the manufacturing of traction systems and converters for 61 commuter trains for Deutsche Bahn in Germany, 39 medium-distance trains for Västtradik in Sweden and 85 trains for the London Underground Central Line in the United Kingdom.

Diego García, Alstom Trapaga Manging Director, said:

These new projects, planned for the next few years, reinforce the workload and strengthen our position within the Group. But they are, above all, the result of the excellent work of the entire Alstom Trapaga team, which has made our levels of quality and competitiveness a global benchmark.

We are also proud that the site can expand with new workshops to support our growth.

Covering over 45,000 metres squared; Alstom’s Trápaga development centre, which supplies propulsion and electric traction systems for a plethora of railway applications of all power ranges, is currently undergoing expansion and diversification, having recently unveiled new workshops for railway equipment maintenance.

The new workshop introduced new equipment and machinery for the maintenance and overhaul of traction converters, power modules and motor fans.
