Over 1.6 Million Marine Travels recorded in the First 10 Days of Nowruz Holidays

The Director General of Maritime Affairs at the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) announced that over 1.6 million marine travels were recorded along Iran’s coasts during the first ten days of the Nowruz holiday season, from March 14 to March 23, 2025.

PMO News Portal - Allah Morad Afifi Poor, Director-General of Maritime Affairs at PMO, stated that 231,000 vehicles had been transported by sea to the islands of Qeshm and Kish during this period. Furthermore, 59,000 passenger and recreational vessels operated smoothly. This process will continue along the coasts.

Afifi Poor also referenced weather forecasts predicting adverse conditions, which have temporarily suspended marine travel. He warned that these severe weather conditions would persist until Wednesday, leading to temporary restrictions on maritime traffic.He urged passengers to comply with safety measures and avoid using unauthorized vessels during these challenging conditions.

"The severe weather has affected western coastal regions and will continue to affect other areas. People must follow the authorities' guidance for their safety," Afifi Poor emphasized.
