Northern Rail Corridor feasibility study

Aspire Mining subsidiary Northern Railways has signed a memorandum of understanding with China Gezhouba Group International to undertake a bankable second-stage feasibility study for the planned Northern Rail Corridor.
The proposed mixed traffic line would run from Erdenet to serve coal reserves at Nurstell and Ovoot. A decision on financing is to be taken by February 2018.
Long-term plans envisage that the line could be extended from Ovoot to the Russian border at Arts Suuri, connecting with the planned Kuragino – Kyzyl route in the Tyva Republic.
