The No to Accidents campaign and the Let's Drive Fully Attentive slogan to be considered as messages for respecting life
Dr. Alireza Khavandi, an academic professor and senior expert in road safety, stressed that the "Let's Drive Full Focused" message is a significant step toward enhancing road safety during the New Year holiday.

Speaking to the RMTO Public Relations Department, Dr. Khavandi stated, Our esteemed compatriots deserve safer roads and vehicles, and it remains the responsibility of authorities to fulfill their legal duties in this regard. However, behind the wheel, it is the drivers who play a pivotal role in safeguarding their most valuable assets—their lives and those of others—by driving responsibly.
Dr. Khavandi described the "No to Accidents" campaign and the "Let's Drive Fully Attentive" message as a movement rooted in respect for life. He explained that a "Fully Attentive" driver is one who always opts for a safe speed—a speed that enables timely and accurate decision-making.
He elaborated further, stating that "During rush hours, a Full Focused driver maintains a speed that ensures a safe following distance and avoids endangering others on the road. At night, such a driver adjusts their speed to detect and respond to potential dangers promptly. In rainy conditions, they choose a speed that prevents skidding and when fatigued, they prioritize safety by stopping at a secure location rather than continuing to drive."
Dr. Khavandi also highlighted that fully attentive drivers refrain from stopping on the shoulder of the road, knowing it is reserved for emergencies, and avoid overtaking in unsafe sections, particularly in continuous lanes.
The Role of Passengers in Road Safety
Dr. Khavandi reiterated the critical role passengers play in ensuring travel safety. He urged passengers to support drivers by wearing seat belts, staying vigilant and reminding them of safety tips during the journey. Additionally, he underscored the importance of using proper child seats in the back of the vehicle for infants and children under eight years of age.
The Role of Authorities in Safety Enforcement
Dr. Khavandi expressed gratitude for the presence of police, traffic officers and rescue teams on the roads, stressing that their enforcement of safety laws is solely aimed at ensuring safer journeys for all citizens. He urged that safety should remain a permanent priority for both officials and the public, rather than being limited to specific occasions. Continuous campaigns and measures, he stressed, are essential for reducing casualties and safeguarding lives.
In conclusion, Dr. Khavandi expressed hope that through collective efforts, including active participation in the "No to Accidents" campaign, citizens can make travel safer for everyone. He encouraged all compatriots to adopt safe driving practices during Nowruz trips, ensuring joyful and secure journeys for themselves and their loved ones.
