100 New Road Patrol Vehicles Unveiled ahead of the Nowruz Traffic Plan
Simultaneous with the commencement of the Nowruz 1404 Traffic and Travel Safety Services, the Deputy for Road Maintenance at the RMTO announced the unveiling of 100 technical road patrol vehicles. This initiative aims to enhance rapid response capabilities and ensure the timely presence of traffic agents at the accident scenes, particularly during critical incidents and emergencies.

According to Mehran Qorbani, this new fleet has been allocated to provincial general departments across the country. These technical patrol vehicles will operate daily, providing continuous road services, including road surface repairs, asphalt and bitumen tank maintenance, cleaning and washing of signs and guardrails, fire extinguishing, machinery support, vehicle towing and other essential equipment required for road services as part of the Nowruz safety plan.
Dr. Qorbani highlighted that this measure complements a series of other initiatives by the Roads Maintenance and Transportation Organization, including road safety enhancements, road surface preparation and oversight of the public transport fleet comprising buses, minibuses and rental vehicles. Additionally, welfare service areas, border crossings and other infrastructure have been prepared to improve services for travelers during Nowruz.
The Nowruz road safety management plan includes the establishment of a dedicated headquarters from March 15, 1403, Iranian Calendar, inspections of ten key national corridors to address deficiencies, readiness of emergency accommodations for road users, deployment of 10,000 personnel and 8,700 road machinery units and the formation of 1,200 patrol units along major routes.
Dr. Qorbani also underscored the significance of the "No to Accidents" campaign, featuring the message "Let's Drive Fully Attentive," as a transformative opportunity to shift public perceptions of road safety and reduce travel risks. He stressed that national support and collaboration among agencies, organizations, media outlets and law enforcement are crucial to achieving meaningful change. However, he noted that the 20-day Nowruz period alone is insufficient for impactful results. Extending the campaign over three to five years is essential to achieving long-term safety improvements and reducing accidents.
The Deputy RMTO Chairman further clarified that the campaign targets not only drivers but also passengers and travel companions, recognizing their critical role in ensuring safety. To this end, the organization has adopted a unique approach to content creation and campaign messaging, integrating information and awareness initiatives into roadside welfare service areas across the national road network.
Through these comprehensive measures, RMTO aims to ensure a safer and more enjoyable travel experience for all during Nowruz and beyond.
