42% Surge in Passenger Traffic at Border Terminals during Nowruz 1404

The Director General for the Department of Transit and International Transport at the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization has reported a 42% increase in passenger traffic through Iran borders during the Nowruz 1404 holidays period. The surge was recorded between Esfand 15th, 1403, and Farvardin 13th, 1404, Iranian Year.

According to Javad Hedayati, the significant uptick in passenger transport during the holiday season is highlighted, as he stated: “During this period, 1.244 million passengers traveled through borders, with 598,000 incoming passengers and 646,000 outgoing passengers.”
Mr. Hedayati also further stressed that the Mehran BCP and the Shalamcheh border were the most popular choices among Nowruz travelers. These borders recorded 462,000 and 260,000 passengers, respectively.
 
In addition, the Director General noted that other key borders also witnessed substantial traffic during the same period:
• Razi BCP: 76,000 passengers
• Bashmaq BCP: 70,000 passengers
• Dogharoun BCP: 66,000 passengers
This significant increase in passenger transport underscores the critical role of borders in facilitating travel during one of the busiest seasons in the country.
